Rules
1. All Countries must make up ONE, PRESENT DAY WORLD.
2. Smaller the better, especially in places where a lot of people want to make their nations, e.g. Europe or Asia. Make big empires if you must, but I want the world to finish in enough time to let history unfold, but slow enough for everyone to participate that wishes to. I hope you understand what I mean.
3. You may only post one nation every post
4. Do not wank your nation to crazy levels.
5. Flags are fine, but not required.
6. Please post a map, but it's not required. If you don't post a map, then describe your countries location well enough for us to interpret where it is. Save in Jpeg.
7. The Point Of Difference is 350 A.D. though you can make it a bit later if you want.
8.Be creative. Also no things from this reality which are much later than the POD, such as a Third Reich, Soviet Union or USA.
9. The year that this map is in is 2012 A.D.
10. You have to claim before you post, and when you have claimed you have 4 hours time to post your nation.

Brief History: Following religious persecution from the invading Belgic, many Calvinist Frisian fled the Old World to Belgic colonies in New World, Africa and Asia, mainly to the colony of Ceylon (the mass emigration across the seas was know as the “Great Trek”) during the late 17th century.

Many of the now called “Boers” formed small farming communities and tea and coffee plantations, using Tamil labour. As the largest white ethic group in the colony, Boers quickly found themselves in the colonies administration. The Belgic left the Boer to their own devices as the there could reap the rewards the profitable colony.

For many years the colony, was quiet and peaceful. With the Boer community growing strong on the wealth of the plantations, a nationalist sentiment started to form within the Boer Colony. This was until the Global War broke out. Governor General Kruger, a Boer, rejected Belgic call for arms, as their traditional homeland was being liberated by Pact Forces and why should young Boer die for the men that drove them out of Europe in a war that didn’t interest them.

The colony revolted against the Belgic government (little damage was done in the revolt as most the white population was Boer or Frisian and the “coloured” troops where loyal to the Boer officers) and joined sides with the Pact, although there didn’t take part in the fighting, did offer trade and bases in the Indian Ocean for the Pact.

After the war, the Ceylon rejoined the Frankish National State and life returned to normal. However with Ceylon grew distant with Frankia, no longer seeing any ethic ties to its motherland. With the generals coup in Frankia, Ceylon declared indepence peacefully in a referendum in 1953

After independence, the new government started to promote the “Natives” to better equality, mainly the loyal Tamils. However, ultra conservative Boers feared it might bring down the Boer hegemony of power. By 1972 a Ultra nationlist group “Boer First” gained control a political coup.

The new regime started to segregret the country along Racial lines with Boers on top with the Tamils coming next being “Honorary Boer” and the others groups gained no rights what so ever and where subjected.

Today, the regime has rebuilt Colombo into a white ”Utopia” with many of the “Others” in ghettoes. (Thinks Area 11 in Code Geass)

Brief History:

After the crash of the Roman Empire, many new kingdoms born. Like the "Old" Keltia on the british islands. It stretched across the british lands except Scotland. There was only a few differences from other countries from this time. It wasn't an exactly man or women ruled kingdom. Anyone of the Royal families had the chance to claim the title, in fair duels. Duels in combat, mind, and spirit.
In the reign of Queen Buedica, was the "golden" age. The celtic armies defeated many lands in Europe, such as nowadays bretogne, Iceland, Greenland, territories and vassals in Scandinavia. But after her reign, the royal children and the nobles started to fight against each other for the power. The civil war weakened the empire and after few years of struggle a new enemy made the final act in killing it.
The saxxoon invasion.

The saxxon and later the british invasion slowly, but strongly divided the whole country. Wasn't too hard, some of the dutches and nobles helped them, sold their freedom for ranks. Keltia disappeared from the maps. Later in the centuries, many revolts striked the british rulers, but none of them was strong enough to shake the new military power of Europe. But the celtic peoples didn't forget their gold old days, and waited for the rigth time.

In the middle of the 19th century, this time has arrived. Revolts shaked the whole continent. Polish rebels against the russian tsar, hungarian hussars battled with the Habsburg empire, and french people wanted to kill their king. Britannia had to use his power to re-establish, the wanted peace and ballance in the continent. However, after the fleet and army sent out, the celtic people also started revolts.

The revolt lasted for many years. It ended in 1857, with a peace treatment. But until the Day of Independence the rebels achieved Wales, Cornwall, Ireland, Wessex, and Bretogne as well. The queen was wise to not tried to conquer more lands. The revolts across Europe were ended, and they had to rebuilt the towns, villages, moreover, write the constitution for their new homeland.
The main question was the goverment type. Many nobles wanted a simple kingdom, with aristocracy and "easy" peasants. Queen Amaril wisely decided to refuse this idea. All the countries around the world was surprised, when the constitution of New-Keltia finished.
Theocratic Matriarch.
The main ruler is the Queen with high-ranked group of wise women. And the religion became a version of the christianity with some ancient parts from the druid's religion. But the Flame of the Celts, made this for a bright future, not for temporary advantages. Later, this religion allowed the scientist in New-Keltia to develop health-care and natural science as well, decades earlier. While the priests in other countries treated doctors/scientists like followers of evil works, the priestesses in New-Keltia, supported them, to discover every parts of the created world. For the purpose of know the reason of the mankind in God's plan.

In the 20th century, New-Keltia tried to be neutral as possible in the world-wide conflicts. In political and economical ways both. The second one wasn't perfectly succes, some economic crisis threatened their wealth, but with hard and strict decisions, the Queens mostly survived it on their thrones. But, like in other kingdoms, the ruler changing times are always hard for the people and also for the new queens. In 2012, there are also problems in New-Keltia, moreover, this time not death, but a strange decision lead the country into hard time. The previous queen, Nadera the Second, sacrificed her rank, power and wealth for a gallic business man.
Will Sophia the Fourth can handle such a time like this in New-Keltia?
We'll see, is she smarter than her elder sister or not.

History: With the discovery of the Americas by Christopher Coloumbus, the other powers in the Old World such as England and France raced to colonise this new land. England set up 13 colonies along the eastern seaboard while France set up New France. After the Seven Years War, England took possession of New France and made it Upper and Lower Canada. Many English settlers moved west, across the Rocky Mountians. The English settlers struck gold in 1790, sparking a massive gold rush. Settlers all flooded west, establishing the colony of British Coloumbia.

The gold veins were exhausted after thirty years, but so much money had flooded into the colonial government that the treasury was flooded. The American Revolution had happened, and the colonists, with their new wealth, hosted their own revolution and took over the government. The revolution only met resistance along the coast, where the colonists met resistance from the British Navy. They managed to seize the boats, and began to build they're own nation.

Expansion happened slowly north and south, and the Yukon as well as modern-day Washington and Orageon. Internally, they had situated their capital on Victoria, on Vancouver Island. Within the interior, there were issues with the Native American tribes, but peace was made before a large-scale battle began. The Chief's family would become the Royal line on the condition they converted to Christianity and took English names. After the chief died, his son became the first king, Julian I. The king and elected Chancellor had equal power, though a king was for life and a Chancellor could only hold his office for two three-year terms in a row.

In 1866, The newly named CPP came into conflict with the Spanish holdings in the American West, and at this point, had an impressive navy. They bombarded the coastal cities and advanced south. The desert heat did take it's toll, and the First Spanish War ended in 1870, with heavy casualties in both sides, but with little land changing hands. However, in 1876, the current king Alexander II raised a new army. Rather than fighting a pitched battle, they used guerrilla tactics to ambush supply trains and then fought the Spanish forces once they were low on food and equipment. The war ended in 1878, with the Siege of San Francisco, where the city was blockaded by land and sea.

In this way, they showed they could compete with an Old World power, and after consolidating their land from the coast to the Rockies, they looked to Alaska. Not wanting a war with Russia, they instead set up trading posts throughout the land and slowly expanded their influence. They claimed true ownership when the Russian princess Alisa married King Alexander IV in 1900.

During the early 1900s, fortifications were built throughout the Rocky Mountians as a defensive measure, while they expanded, collecting many Pacific Islands. This brought them into direct conflict with Japan, who stopped their advance in 1910. The Pacific War started, and the CPP suffered crushing defeats at Midway and Hawaii. The Japanese even occupied Victoria in 1913, when Queen Julia I was ruling. She was treated with respect, and ended the war through diplomacy. The Treaty of Nanaimo allowed the CPP to keep land up to Hawaii, as long as they paid annual tribute for the next fifteen years. During this time, the government was blamed for the loss, and while the army was left under the jurisdiction of the Parliment, the naval forces were made enitrely seperate from the government, under solely the Royal Family. During war times, the High Admiral was granted power equal to the King or Chancellor. The CPP rebuilt their navy and established an air force, but only fought if their interests were threatened. During the first half of the century, they established trading posts around the South Pacific, but never added new land to their merchant empire.

Once oil was discovered in Alaska, the CPP were quick to begin drilling and piping it. Ports such as San Francisco and Vancouver are booming economic centres, and logging and mining are large industries, while still balancing natural preservation. However, very recently, the late King Casper II had passed away from lung disease, leaving his daughter Crown Princess Alison III on the throne, with Chancellor Luke Collins beginning his second term and High Admiral Sashs Chekoff at her side.

(If unclear, the territory is Alaska, and everything along the West coast to the Rocky Mountians. They also own the Hawaiian Islsnds. They have ports all around the South Pacific, but these are privately owned in the Princess' name, and still belong to the country they are based in)
